Hamra Hajurama: Our Grandmothers is a storytelling project using the primary mediums of photography and text. The project was designed to encourage writers and photographers to collaborate and produce work together. The 15 writers and photographers involved in Hamra Hajurama have fanned out across the country since May 2009, seeking voices and encountering a fascinating range of women with much to tell- not just tales of sorrow and injustice, but also ones of survival, dreams and hopes.
